Traveling Rush

We were finally in the air.  We had been delayed in Oakland ,California for about 2 hours!
Being delayed that long would make a tight connection for our next flight.

We landed in Los Angeles, C.A. with about 40 minutes till we had to be checked in to our next flight.   We quickly exited the plane and made our way to the baggage claim.  We waited for our suitcases to come into view and pulled them off.  We started as quickly as we could to try to find our way to the international terminal.

Once we knew where to go to the international terminal we didn’t wait to start running to get there.  We were in terminal 1 and we had to pass terminal 2 and 3 to get there.  My mom was pushing one of the airport trolleys that had 3 suitcases stacked on it.  I was pulling a suitcase, as was my younger sister, Sage.

Sage and I were following our mom, trying not to fall behind her too far.

My youngest sister, Joyce, was trying to run beside my mom but eventually she slowed down and started to be left behind.  My mom picked Joyce up and held her on the cart.

When Sage got tired. I took the suitcase she was pulling and tried to keep both suitcases going straight.

When we had mode it to halfway past terminal 3 I started getting tired.  We kept going and we encouraged each other.  Working together we pulled through and made it to where we needed to check in.

According to my mom’s phone we had three minutes left.  We talked to one of the people behind the desk.  They said we were too late.  My Mom showed them her phone to show we had 3 minutes left.  They took our bags and checked us in!  We were relieved.  I felt that it was worth the run even though we were all tired and it felt really good to rest.

In the end we made our flight by working as a team and keeping on going even when we were tired.

  1. Hi Mercy
I certainly get the feeling of rushing when I read your story. What a good idea to put the hyperlinks into your story. Has your family got any other overseas trips planned?

I don't think we have any more overseas trips this year.
